Disneyland Fun with the Little Ones

I’d love to designate one day each week and make it our Disneyland day -  in a perfect world where there were no blackout days, no super hot days, no traffic, gas prices were much lower and the thought of taking all three kids anywhere by myself wasn’t an overwhelming prospect. My oldest son is spending a few days with Grandma and Grandpa, so I thought I’d try my luck with two.

A couple weeks back, I happened upon this challenge from Magical Days With the Mouse. A Gowalla trip designed just for the littlest Disneyland explorers.  This gave us a plan for the day, 12 spots to visit and enjoy.  One thing I learned on our trip yesterday – wrangling two two year olds and taking pictures in the process is no easy feat!  There were few great photos, but plenty of great memories.

We can’t get through the turnstiles without getting everyone a map.  Our day began in Fantasyland.

When someone wants to sit in the pink cage  (“Pink! Pink! Piiink!!”) and someone else wants to sit in the orange one, someone is bound to be a little unhappy.   Fortunately the pout wouldn’t last long.

Mission complete!

Whew, what a day!

Think there isn’t much a two year old can do at Disneyland? Think again!

The Cheerios Incident

Three of them, one of me. I’m screwed outnumbered. Natalie and Ryan were playing happily in the living room when I took Jake upstairs to put him down for a nap. I returned to find quite a different scene.

Cheerios Mess Who needs a bowl for cereal? I did what any good mom would do, put off the clean up and took pictures instead. (I feel compelled to document my journey to insanity.)

Start cleaning now? Nah, better get video too.

As for my efforts to corral two one year olds covered in Cheerios and confine the mess to one room? I can still hear the sound of Cheerios raining down on the floor as Ryan ran away from me down the hall…

This Party Was A Smash

Two kids, two cakes, two times the mess fun!

Want some?

Now that’s what I call dessert!

Look, no hands!

(Note the cake escaping on the left…oops!)

Three days later and I’m still finding more cake to clean up. Thank goodness we only do this for first birthdays!

The Trouble With Twins

I’m truly blessed, I know, but there are things about being a twin mom that just plain suck. Like when you have one baby in your lap, happily nursing away. Meanwhile the other baby is at your feet.

Looking like this.

Wailing.

Grabbing at your leg in a desperate plea.

With nobody here to pick him up and distract him he persists, making your ears bleed and your heart ache.

His sister takes her sweet time, but finally she gives him his turn.

And she’s not smug at all.

Why do I have the feeling this will be the first post in a series?

Wordless Wednesday

They are obviously hatching some sort of plan…

Happy New Year everyone!
